Day 37: New Fabric Panels

In 2025 my focus is turning more to textiles. Over the last year or so I have been working towards creating some original designs for textile artists. I’ve used a few different printing methods to create the first of the new fabric panels. The designs are so colourful and perfect for use in creating your own original textile artworks.

Textile Panels for Artists

Original textile panels will be a key part of my website shop, due for launch soon. The first batch of new fabric panels are 100% cotton. Other fabrics may become part of the mix later on. The three printing methods I have used are:

  • using my inkjet printer to print directly onto cotton
  • hand printing fabric using acrylic paint
  • using a fabric printing company to print my panels

I’m more of a designer than a textile artist. So, before I list anything for sale, I am considering the best use of each type of panel. To do this, I am creating a few different types of textile art projects. The project shown in the image below will work into a textile collage piece.

It will take me a while to finish it, but it’s very rewarding. Working with my own fabric designs for textile art is showing me how versatile these panels are. Variations in colour and tone add depth and texture to the design.
