One of my artworks ‘Dappled Pink Fingers Orchid’ is currently on display in Smythesdale. It is part of the 2024 Golden Spaces ‘Winter’ art exhibition. This exhibition was launched in June 2024 in Bannockburn by the Golden Plains Shire. Running across a year, the exhibition moves between 3 Shire venues. Currently, my artwork is exhibited in The Well, Smythesdale. It will be there until the end of February 2025. In March it will move to the Golden Plains Civic Centre, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn.
This artwork is a digital collage of my photographs of the bushland. The Pink Fingers Orchid is central to the work, but you can find a caterpillar, bark, leaves and the light falling through the canopy, creating a dappled foreground. I wanted this work to be vivid and bold, so I’ve chosen colours which are not natural, but which allow the Orchid to shine. The vivid pinks and blues bounce off each other and I love the impact. So many people have commented on the colour, so I know I am not the only one who enjoys this saturated colour.
‘Dappled Pink Fingers Orchid’ is for sale, so if you want to view it, contact details and opening hours can be found here.
