2024 Brunswick Street Gallery ‘Fifty Squared’ Group Exhibition
I entered my abstract landscape painting ‘Summer by the Dam‘ into the Brunswick Street Gallery exhibition ‘Fifty Squared Art Prize 2024‘. This was a large group exhibition with more than 800 works on display. It was such a wonderful collection of artists and artworks to view in one gallery. Well done BSG!
2024 Golden Plains Arts Inc. Group Exhibition ‘Expressions‘
The Annual Golden Plains Arts Inc. group exhibition ‘Expressions‘ was held at the Mercure Ballarat from 3rd June to 7th July. My work ‘Moments of Clarity Bloom Where They Must‘ is an abstract reflection on the messy nature of the creative process.
2024 ‘Winter’ Golden Spaces Exhibition
Organised by the Golden Plains Shire Council, the Golden Spaces exhibition will be held every six months. Works by artists are exhibited in the Shire buildings for a year – moving between 3 different buildings over that time. My work is a digital collage print ‘Dappled Pink Fingers Orchid‘. Curators for this exhibition were Barry Wemyss and Ros Bosnar.
2024 Textile Palette Exhibition
The Textile Palette Exhibition, themed ‘Distortion, the evolution of body enhancement’ was held at The Warehouse, Clunes. My work ‘The Pink Switch‘ reflects on the impact of pharmaceutical breast cancer treatment on the female body. An ekphrastic work, it consists of my first textile sculpture and a poem.
2024 Golden Plains Arts Trail
As part of the 2024 Golden Plains Arts Trail, my Dereel studio was open to the public on the weekend of 13th and 14th April, as Venue 7 on the North Trail.
The acrylic landscape paintings on display were addressing the theme “Memory and Mirage” In addition, original fabric designs and photographs, along with small items (gift cards, tote bags, scarves and fabric fat quarters) were available for purchase.
2024 Smythesdale Arts and Music Fiesta
Every time I participate in a community art event, I am always amazed at the talented artists we have surrounding us. This year was no exception. My works in this year’s exhibition were ‘Spider Orchid and Bud’, ‘Sundews’ and ‘Texture Study in Red, Green and Orange‘.
2023 Eureka Prize Exhibition
‘Lakeside‘ was my entry into the Ballarat Arts Foundation 2023 Eureka Prize Exhibition. Having been accepted into the BAF Mentorship Program, I was eligible for entry as a BAF Alumni. The exhibition was held at the Fairbanks Eye Gallery in Sturt Street Ballarat.
2023 GP Arts Inc Group Exhibition
The annual Golden Plains Arts Inc. group exhibition had the theme ‘Place‘ in 2023. My abstract landscape ‘Forest Floor‘ was ideal for this theme. The venue for the exhibition was the Mercure Ballarat.
2023 Golden Plains Arts Trail
I found it to be quite a different and exciting experience, opening my private art studio as part of the Golden Plains Arts Trail in 2023. Prior to that, (I have participated in the Golden Plains Arts Trail since 2014) I exhibited as part of the Dereel community display in the Dereel Soldiers Memorial Hall.
2023 Smythesdale Arts and Music Fiesta
My works ‘Trunks‘ and ‘Forest Light‘ were featured in the 2023 Smythesdale Arts and Music Fiesta, along with ‘Abstract Landscape 1‘ not shown in the photograph. The Fiesta is an annual event much loved by the local community.
